Summary of Test Method:
The time is
measured for a fixed volume of liquid to flow under gravity through the
capillary of a calibrated viscometer under a reproducible driving head and at a
closely controlled and known temperature. The kinematic viscosity (determined
value) is the product of the measured flow time and the calibration constant of
the viscometer. Two such determinations are needed from which to calculate a
kinematic viscosity result that is the average of two acceptable determined
values.

Instrument structure:
1. Double layers bath
The constant temperature bath of
the instrument adopts double layers type. The inner layer is a harden glass
cylinder of φ300×300mm and the outer layer is a synthetic glass cylinder of
φ360×285mm.
2. Illumination system
There is a lamp installed in the
instrument, so that you can observe the reading of capillary viscometer
clearly.
3. Temperature controlling system
(1) Temperature sensor: Platinum
resistance; Pt100;
(2) Temperature controller: It is
a digital and intelligent temperature controller. It can show four digits by
double LED. It can control temperature rapidly with short response time and
small over-regulation value. Its controlling accuracy can be ±0.1℃.
(3) Heating system: It uses heater
of 1000 W and 600 W for heating, so the temperature can increase quickly. It
can adjust the heating power when the temperature is close to the preset
temperature, so that it can keep the bath temperature stable.
4. Stirring system
The stirring motor is a 60YN06-2B
non-slowdown, single phase asynchronous motor. The heating and stirrer are both
in the protection shield.
